A “living tribute” to Vincent

“ Professional Living Tribute Reproduction of Ron Perlman's ‘Vincent’ role
from the late 1980's television series, ‘Beauty and the Beast.’
VintageBeast is an artisan, recreating the look, sound, and motion of this much beloved character.
His work is a donation to the Fandom, and is brought forth with love, humility, and great respect. ”

Vincent impersonators are many in the glorious tradition of our fandom. The most recent one debuted just one month ago.

Eric "Vintage Beast" has not only a great talent as impersonator: he also has a beautiful way with words.

The depth and the respect that shine through how he introduces himself and speaks of his passion are truly inspiring.

He created two versions of Vincent sofar, for two different cosplay conventions in August 2013. He shared his passion, and the step-by-step process of creating his Vincent persona, on his Facebook page that he kept blessedly free for browsing by those who are not Facebook members. “Preserving and Honoring...
does not mean ‘seeking attention.’

I have no desire to showcase who resides underneath the guise of my rendition of "Vincent." I have other ways to shine in my life, and I wish for the attention here to go to Vincent, the original television series from the late 80's, and to the fans that make up a world that is still very much thriving - a world that I have never truly stepped into, perhaps for fear of rejection. This character meant so much to a young boy coming up without a decent father figure...a young kid who learned how to be nearly everything he became - by simply sitting down one day a week to take in "Beauty and the Beast." The show and the character of Vincent meant so very much to me growing up.

When I finally did reach adulthood, I moved on with building a career...making a life for myself, paying the bills, feeding the pets, moving from place to place until finally finding a place to settle with the love of my life - fittingly, somehow, her name is Catherine...

I did not know of a Community that still honored the show and the values I learned as a child. I believed that everyone had forgotten and just moved on. How surprised I have been.

I have always wished to be able to portray Vincent....and now, after 20 years of entertainment experience, I have gathered enough courage to begin to try this, the most IMPORTANT of characters for me....praying as always to be able to bring my best to the table.

This past weekend (Aug 2013) was my first attempt to bring him forth - and I have been absolutely humbled by the outpouring of support and love that met Vincent with open arms. There were those who had forgotten his name, but remembered the show - those who could NEVER dare begin to forget his name, and those who merely had a great appreciation for the makeup I used to bring him forth for them. I still do not have the words I need to describe how I feel, how I felt...

Thank you for being here as I walk this path. I will do my best, I promise you.

VB, August 2013”

" VintageBeast's goal is to produce a likeness of Vincent that is screen quality in detail - from top to bottom.
This process takes time, love, devotion, sweat, frustration, and even great physical effort to achieve....
all of which is worth every moment to the artisan hoping to bring to life something...
or rather, someone...for the sheer enjoyment of others. "
