| Jamie Murray has been fascinated by the Titanic since he was a kid, but his interest was piqued when he read the Clive Cussler book, "Raise The Tintanic". In 1987-88, he built a small model of the wreck, using Dr.Ballard's book on the discovery of Titanic as a reference. After he'd written a how-to magzine article about building the model, Jamie was contacted by Ken Marschall (he was the historical visual consultant on James Cameron's 'Titanic') : he asked if Jamie could build a larger model,to be used in a documentary. Jamie worked for nearly two years on this model, and it is as accurate as possible. The documentary was never finished, but parts that were already shot have been used in other documentaries on the Titanic. The model sat for a few months in a museum exhibit ... until it found his way back to Jamie's home. I hope you will enjoy these unique photographs ... |
