General Convention Information

To first-time convention attendees (affectionately called con virgins or con newbies) and con family, the general purpose of this is to connect with our con newbies and make them feel even more welcome. First con experiences can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning. To some of you this information is old hat, to others, it's meant to give you some idea about what to anticipate at Beauty and the Beast conventions.

This information is a collection of "general observations" based on previous conventions (a.k.a. cons). All or part of this is subject to change.
  • Should you have any special needs, dietary restrictions or medical conditions – please inform the convention committee when you register.
  • Photographs are generally not permitted in the Art Room.
  • No food or drinks are allowed in the Dealers Room.
  • Forms of payment are cash, checks, traveler's checks, money orders or Paypal. Please verify which form of payment is acceptable, as each convention committee may have different payment options. Debit and credit cards cannot be accepted for payments.
  • Please turn off or mute cell phones and pagers during convention activities.
  • Smoking is allowed in designated areas only.
  • Show respect –for your fellow fans, the traditions of our fandom, the performers in the Talent Show, the wonderful television show that brought us all together, and for yourself.
  • Don’t be shy! Accept hugs when offered, and offer hugs when you are moved to, put out your hand and introduce yourself to fans you don’t know – and ask them questions about how they came to be in fandom, offer assistance to fans setting things up or working behind the scenes – a great way to find out what’s going on, join groups sitting in the lobby, ask your con virgin wrangler about anything you’d like to know more about – in short, participate!
