I'm Coming Home
by Jenn

Catherine awoke that Sunday morning with a smile on her lips. She had been dreaming, dreaming about Vincent and their happy life together. These dreams had been coming more and more often as time passed by. But it wasn't until last night that she was able to truly express these dreams to Vincent. She recalled his look of surprise when she first began to talk, then his eyes slowly began to understand. When she was finished he pulled her into his tight embrace kissing her softly on the lips.

She climbed slowly out of bed and opened the doors to the balcony. Letting the crisp air breeze across her face she smiled as she looked over the park. Back in  her bedroom she hummed softly as she made her bed and placed her clothes in the bathroom. She took a quick shower, skipping her usual makeup and hair routine. She was far too excited to apply mascara.

After she placed a small suitcase by the front door, she walked onto the balcony  once more. A light mist had been falling. She looked across the park at the trees  that stood near the tunnel entrance. Those blessed trees greeted her whenever  she entered the tunnels there. She wondered where Vincent was now as she felt the mist turn into rain splashing her on her cheeks and lips. Licking them slowly she opened her eyes and looked over the park one last time. "I'm coming home  Vincent," she whispered softly before closing the French doors.
