2015 Anniversary Challenge
Unwrap My Heart
by Jodie Boyle
How I long to write you a sonnet, dear lady
Put into words how much I love you so
Compose songs of joy
Sheets full of melodies
Left upon a balcony
Tied with pink ribbon
Waiting for you to unwrap my heartI want to prepare you a feast!
Each dish would be mixed with love and care
Melted chocolate
Banana split
Whipped cream and strawberries
Pralines
You bring me such sweetness
Seeing you smile
The feel of your hand in mineIf I were a painter
An artist of great renown
I would adorn cathedral ceilings
Angels, cherubs
All images would bear a resemblance to you
Holding an armful of roses
Seraphim offering a fig leaf to Our Lady
A room full of people could not take their eyes off of youAlas, I am not a writer, nor a chef
I sketch you in my heart
See you in my dreams
Please know that I love you
I humbly offer you this gift
