Lost

Confusion
Where did all the warm go?
Wailing to the frostnight
Coldest night of the year.

Pitiless
Cement under my back
January Twelfth Night
Where is mother's heartsound?

Nightbreeze
Moving through the cold dark.
Where is mother's warm dark?
I was Inside, last hour.

Abandoned
Tucked behind St. Vincent's,
The howling and rag-wrapped
Present no one wanted.

Streetlamp
Cold light in the cold night
There is white in my eyes.
Concrete's cold seeps through me.

Tomcat
Muzzle bumps my muzzle
Thicker furred and fight scarred.
One of us lasts the year.

Vibration
Rumbling under my back.
I feel the train passing.
My first low lullaby.

Woman
Lifts me off the icestones.
Thin gloves and a cold cheek.
Salvation wears a shawl.

Premonition!
Don't drink what he gives you!
He's colder than icestones.
One of us lasts the year.

Passageway
Back into the warm dark?
Larger tunnels hide me
Than the one I came through.

Mourning
Crying for three straight days
'Til I can't remember
The song of her heartsound

Physician
You're as lost as I am.
Did She leave you here, too?
We'll refuge together.
