April 12 Anniversary tribute

inspired by either (or both!) of the following two suggestions:
 

- one -

Our vantage point is the intersection of two wide brick walkways in the park. We can't see what goes off to the right or left, but before us on either side are metal-fenced areas of greenery. On the left is one magnolia tree. On the right there are two. They reach across the brick pathway. The trees bear pale pink petals, and the ground beneath is amply strewn with them as well. Beyond the magnolia trees, there are evergreens whose boughs also reach across the pathway, creating a shady space beneath them. Beyond that lies a grassy area with a number of fairly large deciduous trees. We can see only the bottom part of the trunk of those trees because the evergreens and magnolias block our view. The day is overcast - no direct sunlight
